Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Women And Hair Loss - Are You Suffering?

By Julianne Frantz

Women and hair loss sufferers - pay attention. Losing your hair may be one of the first signs of hormonal imbalances, an illness or poor nutrition. Female hair thinning isn't just a vanity concern - it may be a real health concern, as well.

It's important to understand the behavior of your hair at the scalp (and under), so if you are suffering hair loss, it's easier to understand what's happening on a deeper level during your hair growth cycles. Experts tell us that above normal hair loss, is a signal to you that something is not right - and that goes beyond vanity!

How Is Health Related To Women And Hair Loss? Above average hair loss (more than 50-100 strands a day), may signal certain health concerns. Female hair loss can be caused by lack of proper nutrition (which, in itself can cause a host of problems in your body), hormonal and metabolic imbalances, stress, medications and other factors, as well.

You can get blood tests to rule out low thyroid levels or anemia for womens hair loss causes. More extensive tests done by your doctor may be needed for more extreme causes of hair loss. For those not experiencing drastic hair thinning, a natural hair loss treatment will provide your hair the proper nutrients for hair regrowth, help stop further hair loss and help your health, overall.

So let's talk more about the "why's" in the hair loss of women and what you can do about it. What happens to the hair follicle to cause female Hair Loss/Thinning? Your hair loss occurs at the hair follicle level. There are 4 different phases a hair follicle cycles through on a regular basis:

1. Growth phase (anagen)

2. Catagen - sort of like a "transition" phase

3. Telogen (resting)

4. Mesanagen (returning growth)

A complete hair growth cycle may last anywhere from 2-5 yrs. per each follicle. Hair thinning and above average hair loss, happens when a hair follicle can't move from the telogen phase. Bald spots result when a large number of hair follicles shut down in one area. This is usually a slow process that occurs over time, but in more severe cases, it may happen all at once which causes clumps of hair to fall out.

The telogen phase by virtue, is temporary. There are a lot of stress factors that can "shock" the hair follicle into the telogen phase. Just as quickly, the hair follicles can be switched back on when stressors are diminished. Women and hair loss, especially moderate hair thinning, will experience improvements in hair regrowth if they can monitor their stress levels and taking notice of their diets (lack of proper nutrients).

Hair loss of women and the telogen phase - what causes the hair follicles to switch into telogen phase, thus resulting in female hair loss/thinning? Why do they break their regular cycle?

Each person is different, some reasons may be any of the following:

*Physical and emotional stress

*Genetic factors

*Hormonal imbalances

*Immune System irregularities

*Thyroid disorders

*Body not getting the necessary nutrients

*Disease

*Medications

*Radiation or Chemotherapy

*Blood loss

*Surgery

Telogen Effluvium is a term you may have heard of. Simply explained as a sudden and uncharacteristic hair loss and not usually localized. This happens when above average amounts of hair follicles are forced into the telogen phase. This supports the argument that stress does play a big part in disrupting normal follicle growth cycles.

You can actually do something about womens hair loss. We found out that stress is a huge factor in female hair loss, and proper nutrition is vital - not just for your hair, but your overall health (many diseases and illnesses come from your body having a deficit of the needed nutrients). Manage your stress, monitor your diet with proper nutrition and supplements - just a couple of things you can do to boost hair regrowth. Also, a lot of women are using Minoxidil for their hair loss - and seeing wonderful results. I recommend going to curemyhairloss.info to check out a highly successful female hair loss treatment.
