Your sleeping position can affect the amount of hair you lose. This myth is contradictory to another which indicates that standing on your head can reduce the chance of baldness. The only factors that can account for hair loss are genetic and environmental factors.

A red, itchy or blistering scalp can be the onset of an infection. Consulting a dermatologist can solve this. Scalp infections can affect hair growth, so it is always recommended that you take steps to be aware of your health.

If you are completely bald, shampoo does not usually need to be required and soap can prove to be a feasible alternative. It is always recommended that you use soaps that are aimed at people who have sensitive skin, as the scalp is unprotected. Be sure to use odorless soap if you decide to do this, and to gently massage your scalp and the surrounding areas as you would if you were washing your face.

It is believed that one of the key causes of male baldness is the sex hormone DHT, a hormone that is triple the potency of testosterone. The effect that DHT has on baldness has not been established. DHT is an influential sex hormone which also controls facial hair, body hair and the prostrate.

Hair loss only affects middle-aged men. It is known fact that the process of receding hairlines and baldness can begin from puberty. Percentages of men affected by male baldness do increase by age, however baldness is certainly not exclusive to the over-50s.

Diet accounts for the condition of a lot of things relating to the body, hair is one of them. Making sure that you get all of the right vitamins and minerals can put you on the course to replenishing your hair loss if it is more significant than normal hair cycles. It is scientifically proven that iron deficiency can result in the thinning of hair; eating foods like red meat and pulses can reverse this.

Some natural remedies include the incorporation of green tea into the diet. Studies have revealed that green tea can half the levels of DHT, which are primarily responsible for baldness. Options can include capsules, or alternatively drinking up to 5 cups of the tea daily to give the recommended daily allowance.

The scalp is at the centre of all hair growth, so it is essential to make sure that the scalp is healthy. Such problems that can occur with the scalp commonly are dry scalps, oily scalps and skin being shed by the scalp. Dead skin can commonly be mistaken for dandruff and can sometimes be missed.

There is some hope for a more permanent option, with the pioneering technology of hair cloning on the horizon. The procedure is still being evaluated by scientists and will not be mainstream for a while, however initial tests and trials have proven to be incredibly successful. It is incredibly likely that a hair cloning procedure would be exceptionally expensive when launched publicly, which means that it may not be a viable option for millions of men who could benefit.

If you are suffering from hereditary baldness, hair loss is inevitable. The measures outlined here are only suggestive tips on slowing down the balding process. If you have any health concerns, be sure to talk your doctor.

By Leigh Martin

Hair loss; it's never a pleasant experience. It is more common in men than women, but everyone is at risk. Not only does a person have to deal with masking or making the best of the situation, they may feel emotions such as embarrassment, shame and even panic.

Women have been praised, loved and sometimes worshiped for their beauty. Every woman has her own beauty and her hair plays no small part. Hair loss in women can be devastating. As women age, they must come to terms with skin that is a little looser than they would like, body parts that are less firm, and for some, hair loss.

Studies have been taken of both men and women and the results showed that women suffer emotionally and psychologically more so than men. Women worry more about hair loss than men do. As much as it hurts a women's self-esteem, female hair loss treatment can be an option.

Many researchers are hard at working studying the exact reasons of hair loss. Interestingly, hair loss in women occurs for reasons that differ from hair loss in men.

Hair loss in women is not uncommonly the result of other physical problems. Health conditions such as anemia, thyroid issues and some chronic illnesses directly lead to hair loss.

So before looking into unnecessary female hair loss treatment seek medical attention for a proper diagnosis. Yet treatments should be considered if no medical conditions were detected. You may have a genetic disorder that results in a buildup of DHT.

DHT is not life threatening, but it will create hair loss in women and requires treatment to stop the problem. DHT build-up occurs when testosterone comes in contact with enzymes in the hair cell. DHT is created, kills the hair follicles and causes the hair to fall out.

As you can see, hair loss in women can be rather traumatic. There are many reasons why hair loss occurs, but that does not mean that it must be the end of your self esteem and outward beauty. Look at it as a challenge to make a new "you.
