Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Hair loss (alopecia) is an extremely common health problem. Stress, drastic weight loss diets and the genetic predisposition are just some of the factors that lead to hair loss. Doctors say that it's normal to lose every day between 70 and 150 hairs.

Here are some of the causes that may lead to excessive hair loss: aging process, heredity, hormonal imbalances, poor circulation, radiation exposure, dermatological diseases, excessive weight loss, diabetes, iron deficiency, thyroid disease, exposure to chemicals, unbalanced diet, postnatal stress, etc.

Also, hair loss is caused by the lack of vitamin A in the body, zinc deficiency, deficiency of essential fatty acids, contraceptives, expired or toxic cosmetics, unhealthy food, sunlight and fibrosis.

There is a strong connection between stress, emotional shocks, anxiety and hair loss. Stress affects the endocrine glands, increasing the amount of testosterone responsible for hair loss and stopping hair growth. Also, a poor blood circulation in the intracranial region may be one of the causes of hair loss.

Hair loss can be also caused by a fungus located on the scalp. In this case, it's required to ask for the advice of a dermatologist.

The lack of iron in the body, associated with a poor diet, leads to hair loss. Try to consume fish, fruits, vegetables and milk.

Be careful before taking any kind of pills. Some medicines are responsible for hair loss.

Sometimes, there is nothing to do when it comes about certain factors. All you can do is to take care of your hair properly, by respecting some rules.

If hair loss is not determined by medical causes, you can prevent it by applying appropriate cosmetics. Experts have conceived many solutions and special lotions against hair loss. If you deal with deficiencies of vitamins, amino acids and minerals in the body, it's indicated to follow a diet based on vitamins, fish oil and mineral salts, which lasts from 6 to 8 weeks.

We must wash our hair depending on its type. If it is dry or curly, you shouldn't wash it more than once a week. Use a conditioner and a moisturizing hair mask. If you have normal hair, you can wash it whenever you feel the need. Oily hair should be washed as often as possible, contrary to the belief of many that frequent washing damages the hair.

Use shampoos and special treatments against hair loss and take this problem seriously. Generally, each treatment depends on how serious the situation is; this is why you should consult a dermatologist or endocrinologist.
