Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Get Back Together With Your Ex

By Sonja Schuyler

After some soul searching, you should ask yourself if getting back together with your ex-boyfriend is the best thing for you. If your answer is yes, then I have a few good tips for you.

Try not to be too aggressive because this might push your ex further away. Remember, if you are feeling overly anxious, you will probably behave in the wrong way and only make matters worse. This will not help your situation.

Although you may want to contact your ex, calling, writing e-mails and text messaging him constantly will only make him feel sorry for you. This is definitely not how you want him to think of you.

Don't try contacting him/her for a while. Take a break and concentrate on yourself. Focus on ways you can improve your own life. This will take the focus off of your relationship issues.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder. Your ex will wonder what you are doing or feeling. If you stop pursuing your ex, you will put him in a position to miss you.

Your goal is to allow your ex to remember why he loved you in the first place. This is the key to repairing a break up. This strategy works better than smothering him.

Give him the chance make the first move. Appear mysterious and play hard to get. Don't play too hard to get though because this only works if you don't over do it. You will come out on top.

If you would like more great advice and techniques, I would like to recommend the The Magic Of Making Up. It has helped hundreds of men and women just like you win back the mind, heart and soul of the ones they love.

Sports in Los Angeles

By Robert Nickel

Los Angeles, California has five major sports venues and ten professional sports teams. There are also a multitude of amateur sports teams, clubs and organizations in LA, as well as those in the outlying areas. It is likely the history of sport in California began with the indigenous peoples, but it appears the beginnings of organized professional sports in LA started with the National Football League in 1926. As we continue, we will take a brief look at the various professional sports present in the city today.

Baseball

There are two Major League baseball teams based in LA, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Dodgers are, of course, based in the infamous Dodger stadium, established in 1958. The Angels venue is Angel Stadium of Anaheim, and was founded in 1961.

Basketball

The National Basketball League teams based in LA are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. They share the Staples Center as their home. The Staples Center has been lucky enough to experience 19 championship wins in its history, 17 of which are credited to the Lakers.

Football

As previously stated, the National Football League began its history in LA in 1926. Unfortunately, since 1994 there have not been any NFL teams based in LA. The Los Angeles Raiders left the city for Oakland and the Los Angeles Rams moved to St. Louis at the end of their 1994 season.

Gaelic Football

Although this sport is not widely known, it has been played in LA since the Irish began arriving in California during the early part of the 20th century. There are currently two professional teams, the Wild Geese and the Orange County Roisin Ladies team. Gaelic football can be described, in a very rudimentary fashion, as a cross between American football and European football (soccer).

Ice Hockey

LA has two National Hockey teams, the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. Staples center is a busy place, in addition to the two basketball teams, the Los Angeles Kings also call it their home. Anaheim Ducks are based in Honda Center.

Lacrosse

There is one professional lacrosse team in LA, the Los Angeles Riptide. Unfortunately due to the economic downturn in the American economy, the team closed its operations in 2009.

Rugby

LA is home to the second oldest rugby club in the Southern California Rugby Football Union, founded in 1958. Even more interesting is the fact that two founding members of the LA club were members of the 1924 US Olympic Rugby Team, and took the gold medal that year.

Soccer

There are two professional soccer teams in LA, the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA; however there are many amateur clubs in the region that have a long history of producing world class players. Both teams share the Home Depot Center, but only the Galaxy has brought home two championships.

No one can argue there isn't a future in sports in LA. In fact, no matter what season of the year it is, there will likely be a game being played. The city is teeming with celebrities, actors and artists; but there are also hundreds of talented athletes who call LA their home. If sports are your interest, LA is your city.

Flu Season - The Worst Time Of The Year!

By Ricardo Henri

Introduction

Flu (influenza) seasons are the months of the year when many persons have it and it's easy to become infected. Outbreaks often begin suddenly and occur primarily in the late fall and winter. It is a respiratory disease caused by a number of different viruses. Vaccines are routinely given in the fall, before the onset of the flu season and are available as an injection or nasal mist. Injections are most important for: people 65 or older, nursing home patients, children over six months old, people with health problems such as asthma or with chronic diseases, such as HIV or heart disease, children or teen-agers who must often take aspirin, persons who are frequently around older persons or those with health problems. Symptoms can be mild or severe - and if they're mild can become severe without any notice.

Symptoms

Should you become infected by the virus, you will usually feel symptoms 1 to 4 days afterwards. Signs of the flu can incompass: fever, chills, headache, muscle ache, dizziness, loss of appetite, fatigue, cough, sore throat, runny nose, nausea or vomiting, weakness, ear ache, diarrhea. They come on suddenly and are worse than those of the ordinary cold however; having these symptoms does not automatically mean that you have influenza. Many different deseases, including the common cold, can have similar symptoms. It is very difficult to distinguish the flu from other infections on the basis of these signs alone.

If you develop flu-like signs and are worried about your illness, especially if you are at high risk for complications, you should visit your health-care provider. Based on your symtoms, your doctor can usually tell if you have influenza, especially at times when a lot of it is going around. After 5 days, fever and other signs have usually disappeared, but a cough and weakness may continue for some time. All symptoms are usually gone within 7 to 14 days.

Vaccine

2 forms of flu vaccines are available in North American: The "flu shot" - an in-activated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is injected with a needle, usually in the arm OR the nasal-spray - a vaccine made with live, weakened flu viruses that do not cause (sometimes called LAIV for "live attenuated influenza vaccine" or FluMist(R)). On October 24, 2007 CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended expanding the utilization of the nasal influenza vaccine LAIV (FluMist) to include healthy children ages 2-4 years old without a past history of asthma or recurrent wheezing.

Any person who's at risk of becoming really sick needs to get a flu shot, or vaccine. It's good for kids who are around older persons and younger kids (like little brothers and sisters) to get the vaccine also. If you get the vaccination, or shot, it will protect you from getting a bad case of the flu. Whichever one you receive, you need to get a new vaccine every year because the flu virus changes every year and the vaccine is formulated to fight the viruses that are going to be a problem that year. The flu vaccine is normally offered between September and mid-November, although it may be given at other times of the year. Because it prevents infection from only a few of the viruses floating around that can produce flu-like symptoms, it is not a guaranteed protection against getting ill. Talk with your MD or local public health department about availability in your area.

Treatment

A large number people take care of their flu by simply Resting in bed, Drinking plenty of liquids, Taking over-the-counter medicine such as aspirin or Tylenol. You can develop complications if you get a bacterial infection, which may produce pneumonia in your weakened lungs. Treatment is usually not necessary for children, but if the illness is diagnosed early and the patient is at risk of developing a severe case, it can and should be started. Treatment can only help however; If begun early and only if the illness is actually influenza. Treatment incompasses bed rest and plenty of fluids; anti-viral medicines may also be prescribed.

Conclusion

Influenza usually begins suddenly and may include these symptoms: Fever (usually high), Headache, Tiredness (can be extreme), Cough, Sore throat, Runny or stuffy nose, Body aches, Diarrhea and vomiting (more common among children than adults). A doctors exam may be required to if you have developed the flu or a complication. There are tests that can determine if you have influenza as long as you are tested within the first 2 or 3 days of illness. In some persons, the illness can cause serious complications, including bacterial pneumonia, dehydration, and worsening of on going medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, asthma or diabetes. The flu can produce mild to severe illness and at times can cause death.

Although the majority of healthy people recover from the flu with no complications, some people, such as older people, young children, and people with certain health problems (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), are at high risk for serious complications. The virus normally spreads from person to person in respiratory droplets when people who are infected cough or sneeze. A person occasionally may become infected by touching something with the virus on it and then touching their mouth, nose or eyes. The single most effective way to protect yourself and others against influenza is to get a flu shot each year.

The flu shot is approved for use in people older than 6 months, including healthy persons and persons with chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease). October or November is the best time to receive a vaccination, but getting vaccinated in December or even later can still be healthful since most influenza activity takes place in January or later in most years.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) - A Disease Of Unknown Causes!

By Ricardo Henri

Introduction

Multiple Sclerosis, more commonly known as MS, is a progressive disease of the nervous system along with a hardening of the muscles and can often result in damage to the nerves of the face, a painful condition known as "trigeminal neuralgia". MS is a diagnosis that can be made only after every other possible explanations for the signs and symptoms have been ruled out. An interesting observation: People in non-Westernized and/or non-Christian societies rarely, if ever, eat Pork or use Pork products, and rarely, if ever, suffer from MS.

Symptoms

The identifying as MS is based upon a clinical evaluation including documentation of "symptoms" and "signs" of the problem. The diagnosis of clinically definite MS requires documentation of 2 distinct episodes of symptoms and 2 or more signs evident from the neurological examination. Symptomatic episodes must last at least 24 hours and be separated by one or more months. The diagnosis can be hard to establish, especially when the initial symptoms are not accompanied by signs, abnormalities on MRI or electrophysiological tests, or analyses of spinal fluid. Even when the initial symptoms are accompanied by abnormalities on the neurological exam, it is still possible that the correct diagnosis is something else other than MS.

The symptoms are similar to those of diabetes and impending stroke victims. Some of the signs include blurred vision, loss of muscle strength and coordination, numbness, and tremors, all of which inhibit many from having a normal life. Even when there are no symptoms, there is progressive damage to the central nervous system with the passage time. After initial symptoms, there may be a gradual improvement, sometimes after several weeks. In some, these symptoms can occur early in the disease; in others, they can happen later. If you are experiencing any of these feelings or symptoms, talk with your doctor or Health Care Practioner.

Conclusion

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and often dibilitating disease of the central nervous system (CNS). The Latin word for scar is sclerosis. Thus, the term multiple sclerosis was chosen to describe the appearance of the brain in people who died with this illness. The symptoms depend for the most part on which particular nerve fiber pathway is involved in the CNS.

Although the cause is unknown, evidence seems to indicates that the disease may result from an environmental agent that triggers the illness in genetically susceptible people. Support for this idea includes the observation that the disease is diagnosed more frequently in temperate than tropical or subtropical areas. Men with multiple sclerosis can find it difficult to achieve or keep an erection. In women, multiple sclerosis often causes a loss of sexual sensitivity, pain during intercourse, an inability to achieve an orgasm, or a diminishing in naturally produced lubrication. Like most other MS symptoms, these problems can be temporary (during a relapse), or they can be a permanent result of the progression of the disease.

A lot of people with the disease experience fatigue or tiredness, but since fatigue can be an indication of so many other diseases, it is not usually identified as being caused by multiple sclerosis. There are a number of drugs available to help manage MS. They fall into two basic groups: Medicines that treat symptoms, Medicines that treat the underlying disease. Speak with your doctor about the best treatment option for you.
