Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

By Peter Albertson

Perhaps your father or grandfather had a baldness problem. If so then chances are you may well suffer the same fate. For that reason it is most important to watch for the early signs of balding. Most hair loss suffered by males is a result of male pattern baldness or what is scientifically known as androgenic alopecia. This condition is inherited from previous members of your family, however it is not true to say that if your father or grandfather suffered from baldness you will too.

Although male pattern baldness is genetic not all those with previous family members to a bald will suffer it, but despite this it certainly pays you to keep an eye out that the early signs of baldness if there is baldness in your family.

A long time it has been known that mens hair loss is mainly genetic but the actual mechanism which resulted in their hair loss was completely unknown. However it has been more recently discovered and it is now known what causes the hair to fall out.

What DHT does is attach itself to the base of their hair follicle and in effect strangle the hair by robbing it of essential nutrients important for growth. The way to reverse this problem is to inhibit the action of DHT and to provide optimum nutrition to the hair follicles.

Science has worked hard and has now found ways of inhibiting the operation of DHT and now there are recognised hair loss treatments approved by the FDA. But don't get complacent, you still important that you monitor for the early signs of balding because it still helps to catch it early.

Watch for the following signs of balding. Hair receding at the temples, thinning hair and the gradual development of a bald patch on the crown. This will vary from male to male.

Whilst there are excellent hair restoration treatments available you still most important to watch for the early signs of hair loss in the mirror each morning. The faster you spot the signs of balding a quick you get onto treatment of the more successful it will be.

The best hair loss treatment is called minoxidil which was the 1st treatment approved by the FDA is a hair restoration treatment. 1. The first thing to do when you notice early signs of balding is to identify why it is happening. If you are experiencing some hormonal changes in the body like those in a thyroid disorder, then the hair may be falling because of it. Same is the case with women undergoing menopause or a pregnancy.
