Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Thinning Hair Remedy Tips

By Stephen Arty

In ones normal life it is expected for us to lose up to 150 hairs every single day. It is usually during washing and combing our hair that this hair sheds, naturally.

Thinning hair and hair loss can be caused by many different factors such as a poor diet (especially one lacking in protein), a negative reaction to medication, a change in hormones such as for women during pregnancy and menopause, stress etc...

Because there can be multiple causes of thinning hair there are different remedies depending on what the cause of the thinning hair is. The following are a few tips that can help thinning hair.

1. Be sure to have a diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A through to C are considered to be particularly important in maintaining good hair quality and prevent thinning. There are lots of sources to find these different vitamins. Vitamin C can be found in lots of fruits such as berries and oranges etc... Vitamin B is contained in foodstuffs such as brown rice, butter and red meat. Vitamin A is found in high quanties in eggs an cheese. Of course one can also take vitamin supplements to get the right amounts of these vitamins. A balanced diet including the above and adequate amounts of protein are vital in maintaining a healthy head of hair.

2. Avoid harsh chemical being used on the scalp and blow drying the hair. These can weaken and damage the hair. Also, what is safe for one person is not necessarily safe and reliable for another, so be sure to fully understand any chemicals and other ingredients in shampoos, conditioners and other hair care products.

3. Try to stay stress free, as with diet, the body will sacrifice hair and or hair quality when it thinks the immune system is under siege in any way shape or form. Thinking positively and doing exercises such as yoga are excellent stress busters.

4. Though there are many products claiming to be thinning hair remedies there are only two FDA approved medications proven to help thinning hair and hair loss. These are Minoxidil and Finasteride. Minoxidil can be used by both men and women and is believed to increase the flow of blood to the scalp. Finasteride inhibits Dht (a by product of testosterone, which attacks the hair follicle) and is to be used by men only. In addition to these, many people swear by Nizoral shampoo in thickening hair and being an excellent remedy for thinning hair (although no studies have ever been done to prove this.) 5. Try cosmetic hair thickening, volume adding products. These usually take the form of a hair thickening spray or microfiber or shampoo or conditioner. Although these products are merely cosmetic and won't biologically remedy thinning hair they cosmetically can, almost instantly. Again, be sure that you know what the ingredients in these types of products are and whether they are safe for you as an individual.
