Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Male Hair Loss

By Anju Mathur, MD

Male hair loss can actually be slowed down, halted or prevented by treating the symptoms of andropause. Andropose is the male version of the female menopause - a diminishing of hormone output in the body sometime between the ages of 40 and 55. The symptoms are different for men than for women, but the cause is the same.

Androgen means any hormone that is responsible in some way for male characteristics. Testosterone is the most well-known such hormone, there are others. So the word andropause means a slowing down or pause of androgens. In women the reproductive organs actually stop functioning, and although that does not happen in men, both sexes experience a reduction of hormones.

Can anything be done about these symptoms of age? Lessening of muscle mass and strength, loss of sex drive, less restful sleep, anxiety, sluggishness, and a pot belly can also be symptoms of andropause in addition to hair loss. Are these symptoms unavoidable? In this article we will discuss what can be done.

Hormone replacement therapy is often recommended for women in menopause; it can as well benefit men during andropause. Two keys to making hormone replacement therapy work are replacing the missing hormones with bioidentical hormones and replacing all the diminishing hormones, not just one or two.

Many substitute hormones being sold are not exactly the same as the ones the body produces. Bioidentical means that the hormones match the ones produced by the body. This is important as obviously the body will recognize and use an identical hormone and not use a substitute that differs.

One must go through medical tests to find out the specific dose of which specific hormones to replace. Differences in age, diet and other factors can affect hormone loss - so each individual is different.

The idea is to bring the dwindling hormones of the body up to the same level as a youthful body. Testing, evaluation and replacement of the hormones needed can make a big difference to a man who has been experiencing unwanted weight gain, lack of energy and interest in life, trouble sleeping and loss of hair. These things can slow, stop and even reverse. It's like being young again.

Slowing down aging and bringing new vigor into your life is really possible with hormone replacement therapy. Middle age and even old age can be exciting. Thousands of men have done hormone replacement therapy and seen the results. You could, too.
