In these modern times, a wide variation in clothing is being marketed as the fashion industry is continually changing. Young people, especially on their twenties, often aim for what's new and tend to go with the current fad. So what's the hip style in fashion at present? For me it is: hipster clothes. It's very simple to undertand the meaning of "clothes" but what about "hipster"? Many of us could have bumped into this word but what exactly does it mean, and how do hipster clothes look like?
No matter how unique everyone is, many of us still prefer going with the trend by sporting clothes that are "in". A few individuals even go far as duplicating their fave celebs, and they honestly think it's cool--that's not how a hipster's mind thinks. Hipsters are those who appreciate individuality not only in how they cut their hair, the clothes they choose, their preference for indie music, their preference for accessories...etc. They are natural to themselves and want to look different from their normal peers.
Their want to be different from the normal flood make them creative. A hipster will prefer to have a messy, shaggy hairdo with side-swept bangs instead of the usually neat hair. Sometimes, they see thick eyeglasses as cool when a normal person associates it with geeks. "Old fashion" is not part of a hipster's thoughts and they liberally put on any clothes they want regardless of how old the style--from layered tops, skinny pants, and cheap old sneakers. Wearing hipster clothes can mean going retro with racerback tank tops without bra.
Now the next thing in mind is probably, how can one be considered a hipster? Before somebody can be one, he should honestly think of it as a cool thing. He should also understand that such distinctiveness is constantly bugged and ridiculed by people. Even though genuine hipsters don't mind, a trying hard might likely feel hurt. Also, one should be at the appropriate age, ideally from twenties to thirties. You can't expect your grandma to be a fashion trendsetter, right? The third thing is, you should have liking for music, especially indie music.
Of course, you can't be a hipster without looking like one. A hipster will always sport hipster clothes and that's where creativity comes into play. Their preferences range from vintage clothes, tight jeans, tartan polo shirts and anything that is old school. They normally match their pants with v-neck shirts and or cardigans. Other usual item picks include cowboy shirts, tartan shirts, flowery outfit, ironic tees, and shirts with large prints.
Just like all other fashion style, the image of hipster clothes is constantly evolving though some features remain constant over time. Skimpy hoodies, for example, are a classic choice, and converse shoes are still worn by many. Other shoe picks include pretty sandals, grandma boots and other flats. For the ladies, flowery outfits are in, complemented by a wide choice of accessories such as eye-catching headbands, belts and large beaded necklaces. Colorful leggings are also seen with short skirts and somewhat oversized shoes.
Hipster clothes will always be attractive, and they remain trendy over an infinite period of time. The good thing is, once you start being comfortable sporting them, you get more confident each time. Who knows, your smart look might be attractive for others, that even those who once mocked hipsters will eventually see it in a different light.
