Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Excellent Split-Ends Hair Treatment Tips

By Eugene Yeng

If you look in the mirror and think the image looking back at you has a bristly brush on its head you probably want some split-ends hair treatment tips. When the layers on the individual strands separate, because they are dry and brittle, it can be very frustrating. But, there are ways you can reduce the incidence of split and broken ends and prevent them becoming even worse than they are.

Using appliances that are designed to work with heat can cause damage and breakage. Both curling and straightening can have the same effect. Even just using a hot air dryer can multiply the number of strands that break. If possible use natural drying techniques. If this is not possible use your styling appliances on the lowest heat setting you can get away with.

The chemicals in many dyes and bleaches can cause drying and this leads to brittleness and breakage. The ammonia in bleaches is particularly harsh. When you want to change your color think about going darker instead of lighter it takes less chemicals to do this. And, when your tresses are colored use care products specifically designed for this purpose. They contain additional moisturizing properties to help with dryness.

Vigorous washing can create tangles and then brushing the tangles creates tears in the lengths themselves. Wash gently from the top to the bottom rather than pulling it all up into a bunch. You are less likely to get tangles that will cause problems. If you wash it too often you will remove the natural oils that help to keep the hair moisturized too. Only wash your hair when it needs it.

The annoying frizz resulting from splits is mainly caused by dryness. You can reduce the number of splits on the bottoms of the strands by using plenty of conditioner. A deep conditioning treatment once a week can help. Or, you can massage other natural oils into your scalp and then down the full length. Start at the scalp and then work your way down.

Using your fingers to remove tangles as you would for a small child can prevent or reduce breakage. Holding a lock at one end then ripping the brush through the tangle is almost the worst thing you could do. Replacing your brush with a wide toothed comb can make a big difference to how quickly damage occurs too. Hair is quite fragile and the gentler the treatment the better it will look.

The only way to completely remove the broken parts at the bottom is to have them trimmed off. A trim every six to eight weeks should stop them from spreading too far up and keep their appearance under control. For an emergency temporary fix use hairspray. Spray the area quite heavily then use your hands to smooth the frizzy bits flat. As the spray sets it will hold them in place long enough for you to have a nice dinner out with friends.

These split-ends hair treatment tips will not remove the problem altogether. There is nothing that can do that. But, following them should reduce the amount of damage you get and help to control the visibility of the damage that is done.
