Techniques to Stop Hair Loss.

By Peter Lang

Many males and females are effected by the loss of hair. It can be due to your genetic make-up, sickness or for a considerable number of other reasons. Today we have a look at some ways that you can stop hair loss.

Hair Growth Cycle.

Everyones hair grows at a rate of roughly one centimeter less than a half inch every four weeks. At any specific time, about ninety % of your hair is growing while the other ten percent is resting. The resting hair comes out the end of 2 - 3 months and new hair will begin to grow.

Though it is common to have some baldness each day , some people lose hair at an irrational or over the top rate. The causative factor of this excessive loss might be from surgery, hormonal issues, drugs, illnesses and, in a few cases, from a medical condition. This article provides some recommendations about medicines and other ways to stop your balding problem.

Medications to Stop Hair Loss.

The drug Loniten, also known as the brand Rogaine, could be purchased without a prescription and can be applied or used by both women and men to stop hair loss.

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration, Loniten is applied to your scalp.

It has been successful in slowing the loss of hair and to promote new hair growth but its effects aren't permanent. Finasteride, also called Propecia, received approval by the Food and Drug Administration in 1997 to deal with male-patterned baldness, or androgenic alopecia.

Its use has been effective, however it may only be applied by men.

Surgical Options.

A skin doctor can correct permanent hair loss with a hair restoration surgery. Hair transplant proceedures involves taking strips of your scalp where hair is growing and transferring or transplanting them into the bald areas.

Scalp reduction is performed by removing some of the areas of bald skin and closing the gap with staples or stitches. Scalp extenders or stretchers are devices that are placed under the skin to stretch the areas where hair is growing.

Some of these processes are done in combination to stop hair loss. They're commonly performed under local anesthesia in a skin doctor's office or an outpatient surgical center.

Natural Treatments.

You can make use of an olive oil treatment on the scalp. Olive oil is elucidative and cleans the scalp to improve hair growth.

Olive oil also humidifies, which gives your hair a great place to grow. Massage or rub down olive oil into the scalp and cover with a shower cap. Leave it on for at least 2 hours or apply before bed and wash out in the morning.

Puncture a capsule of linseed oil and rub down into the scalp for 5 minutes. Leave it on the scalp for an extra ten minutes and shampoo as normal. Linseed oil increases circulation in the scalp. This boosts hair growth and supports your scalp overall health.
