Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

Type Of Speech Impediments And Treatments

By Juliette Cruz

There are numerous people throughout the world that have trouble with speaking correctly. Over time, many of these speech impediments have been named and treatments have been developed. Since problems with speaking can result in a lack of confidence or ridicule by others, people do often find ways to correct them. Through therapy or other types of treatments, a cure may be possible.

To speak is to clearly communicate ideas, thoughts or feelings. So, an affliction that has a direct effect on this ability can be devastating to a person's emotional well-being and confidence. Successful communication is a necessity in life and speech is the easiest way in which to do that. There are several different types of disorders that can affect one's ability to talk.

The most prominent type of disorder that exists is stuttering. This can be recognized when a person continually repeats certain sounds as he is trying to speak, or as an abnormal hesitation right before speaking. Cluttering is another type of disorder. A person with this type of affliction will appear to speak erratically and be difficult to understand. However, if a person fails to possess the ability to speak at all, he may suffer from muteness.

Dysprosody is the rarest type of impediment and is recognizable by the speaker's inappropriate intonation, pitch or timing when talking. Dysarthria, also rare, exists due to the individual's inability to control his talking muscles. This affliction largely appears in those that have suffered from ALS, Parkinson's, a stroke or a head or neck injury.

Another disorder that may appear as a result of a stroke is called apraxia, whereby the patient will rearrange the letters in a certain word and pronounce it as a totally different word. Speech sound disorder, another type of impediment, presents itself as the inability to pronounce certain letters, generally particular consonants. One last type is a voice disorder, whereby damage to or issues with the vocal chords or larynx lead to an inability to make certain sounds.

The reason that these types of orders exist or appear is usually unknown. This holds particularly true if a child is born with the problems. But, sometimes it comes on as a teen or adult. At times it can be pinpointed due to a serious illness or injury, such as a stroke or head injury. Hearing loss can sometimes lead to problems with talking.

There are medical treatments available which can help a person to overcome these disorders, in part or completely. Speech therapy is the most widely recognized form of treatment and may work to correct what is wrong. In other cases, a person may choose to seek treatment through psychotherapy or phoniatrics. The type of treatment largely depends on the way in which a person best learns new behaviors.

Depending on the severity and the type of people's speech impediments, it may be possible to find a treatment that will present a cure. This will be more difficult for some to overcome. There are many different reasons for which these types of disorders exist, although not all are known. It is important to consult a professional if a person wishes to correct any disorder that affects him.
