I don't know why but we always seem to look for cheap curtains or blinds when it comes to decorating our rooms. This often means that we end up shopping around to find the best deals. Quite often we do not find the exact curtains we wan at the right price, so we settle for the next best thing.
Why you would want to put yourself through all that trouble, when in reality window coverings are not all that expensive is beyond me! Nowadays you can find some great deals even on designer coverings such as Hunter Douglas or any other designer brands.
The only time that these blinds may start to get expensive is if you decide to go for the 2" motorized models that come with a remote control. These are always going to be dearer than your standard cellular blind models.
But if you have your heart set on a set of expensive looking blinds why not have a look at some of the faux blind ranges. These blinds have the look of a more expensive blind but cost a lot less.
Window coverings now come in wood and aluminum as well as the more traditional fabric. Fabric is still the most popular choice but having an option of wood and aluminum means that you can more closely match the window covering to the furniture if that is to your taste.
Some people like to have a mixture of styles for different rooms in the house. You could have wood in the kitchen to match the units and maybe aluminum in another room. But most people will still have fabric coverings in the bedrooms.
If you still have your mind set on a cheap pair of curtains then maybe this idea could sway your judgment. Why not go to a store and tell the owner that you are not quite sure what type of curtains or blinds you want.
You may find that the owner will then let you take a set of curtains at a trial price. You then proceed to another store with the receipt and ask them to match the price. You may be surprised to learn that some stores will offer to sell you an entire set for that same price. Once you have purchased the set you can then take the trial set back to the original store and say that they were not the style that you wanted. You have now got the coverings you wanted at a nicely reduced price.
