When it comes to self improvement, nothing is considered to be right or wrong. It is beyond no doubt that what goes well with one person may not exactly go well with another in the same measure. Development in the life of an individual could mean feeding in all the days of the week rather than some days. To a different person, personal enhancement could mean getting a pay raise that best suits his personal needs.
Personal enhancement to one person may be a decline in life to another. This simply means that, the individual who is now capable of having food each day of the week may be so pleased than that who is receiving a pay raise. Therefore, personal development differs from one person to another.
What is really important is the way a person views himself. On the other hand, what a person sees as individual progress is what is important. Out of these views arises the decision to progress. Personal progress does not exist without one deciding to improve.
After one has made the decision, those techniques involved in development comes next. These may be a number of techniques or even a single one. This could also imply that, for one technique to be put in to use, one has to gain from using a different technique first.
Some of the routes to self development are not techniques but just occurrences that are random. For example, illness may be regarded as a route to personal enhancement. Similar occurrences happen with poor events in ones life. This may include loss of a loved one, loss of a job or even a calamity that destroys personal belongings. At this point one has to decide how to improve oneself.
Making a decision to decide is the first step towards self improvement. Constantly made decisions are much important towards personal upkeep. If bad events follow and one allows them to form part of his or her life, then self progress will not accompany.
