Hair today Gone Tommorrow

Balding is not something anyone would look forward to. Even though we are unable to stop aging we can help ourselves when it comes to hair loss.

Our hair does get thinner as we age and more for some than others but with today's medications and creams etc we may be able to slow this down.

I have looked into many hair loss remedies and have found some that are better than others in how they say the can slow down hair loss and some even say they will help your existing hair grow more and stronger. I do not know about that but have heard of some of the good some of them do.

How Can You Deal With That Thinning Hair Of Yours?

By Bruce Wiley

As you advance in age, you gain not only the wisdom of age but lose the fullness of your hair. By this we mean the thinning of hair over a period of time. But other factors like heredity, modern hair styling treatments like perming, bleaching, coloring etc. have also led to thin hair. An unbalanced diet or excessive stress could also lead to untoward results on your hair's thickness.

Since hair thinning is no laughing matter (unless you work as a stand-up comic and do crazy things with your toupee), consider the following tips below.

Dye your hair. Coloring your hair gives it the illusion of thickness, as the process would rough up your hair as a result. As your hair strands would slide against each other like so and lie flat afterwards, this makes your hair appear deceptively full. Lighter hair coloring can provide a better illusion by hiding the scalp.

Curly, not Moe or Larry. When you curl your hair, they appear fuller since the wavy look alters the surface of the hair.

Blow-dry, not towel-dry. If you want a technique that leaves your scalp unscathed yet makes your hair appear up to three times thicker, try blow-drying it. It makes your hair appear stouter, thus appearing a bit higher. But keep the dryer two to three times away from the hair to avoid causing excessive dryness. Also, use a conditioner after shampoo if you tend to blow dry your hair regularly.

Use protein shampoo daily. By washing your hair everyday, this eliminates oil from your hair, making it look much thicker than usual and more bountiful and bouncy. Using shampoos with hydrolyzed animal proteins, also called thickeners, they give the hair more diameter. They also make your hair appear two to three times thicker than usual because these shampoos coat the hair. Needless to say, your hair looks nice and fluffy like you would want it to be.

Use home-made conditioner. All you need is one tablespoon of white vinegar and one pint water - massage this onto your hair after you shampoo it. Vinegar changes the chemical balance of the hair to acidic and thus gives a full appearance to thinning hair.

Use eggs. That's right - one egg on your hair before shampooing can help. Massage it for five minutes and then rinse out. Because egg is a form of animal protein, this is a natural alternative to protein shampoos.

Use as little commercial conditioners as possible. Conditioners are designed to make hair look fuller and add more volume. But the tendency is to overuse these conditioners, hence the often limp appearance. One teaspoon of conditioner per wash should be sufficient.

Mousse your hair. Finally, one last way to add diameter and thickness to your hair would be to style it with mousse. The resin content of mousse coats your hair, thus adding more diameter to it. You can get a fuller appearance to your hair as mousse can lift it off your scalp.
